Hi! We're Addi & Amanda Bills, the owners of The Public House & Lounge. Back in 2019, Amanda came to Addi with the idea to purchase a building as a long-term retirement investment, renovate the apartments upstairs, and see what might be possible with the space below. At the time, opening a restaurant wasn't even a part of the plan. But as you can see -- plans change! Over the last five years, through countless nights, long days, and a lot of stubbornness, we've completely transformed the building. Along the way, we renovated six apartments, applied for every grant we could find, and survived one very bold paint war, all while we both were working full time jobs that included traveling and being apart for weeks at a time. What started as an investment slowly became a dream, then a vision, and finally a reality. The Public House & Lounge is the result of years hard work, hustle, and a whole lot of heart. We're proud to bring something new to the heart of Jefferson, IA -- a place for gathering, celebrating, and feeling right at home.
